THE NEEBINNAUKZHIK SOUTHALL
The Neebinnaukzhik Southall cocktail is named for the Two-Spirit artist, designer, and writer who also runs the Native Graphic Design Project. They said, “Design isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s also about the role you play in shaping society. You need to understand your impact as a designer, and not in an egocentric way. We have to be responsible for the work we do. We need to be willing to look at how we fit into the larger picture.”
RECIPE
1 ½ oz Mixed Blood Whiskey
¾ oz Crème de mûre
1 oz Lemon sour
3 oz Ginger beer
2 Basil leaves or mint leaves
Shake first three ingredients
Double strain over crushed ice
Top with ginger beer
Garnish with basil leaves or mint leaves
